Welcome to the K-9 Crew
Six dogs. One crew. A neon-lit city full of mystery, music, and style.
The K-9 Crew is the comic universe from Paw & Thread — a world where every character drives the story, every story drives the art, and every piece of art connects to apparel you can actually wear.
This is not a product collection with a story bolted on. The story came first. The characters came first. The city came first. The apparel grew out of the world the characters already lived in.

The World of the K-9 Crew
The K-9 Crew lives in Concrete Beats City — a sprawling neon-lit metropolis where the pavement pulses with a heartbeat all its own. Every wall is a canvas. Every corner has a rhythm. Every dog on the block has a story to tell.
The city is built on music, art, and loyalty. The streets are wet and reflective. The walls are covered in graffiti. The streetlights flicker in electric blue, hot pink, and gold. There is an underground tunnel network, a rooftop skate park, a record shop that has been there since the beginning, and a mystery that runs deeper than any of them know.

The city is not just a backdrop. It is a character in its own right. It shapes the crew. It tests them. And it holds secrets that the crew is only beginning to uncover.
Meet the Crew
The K-9 Crew is an ensemble. No single character carries the story alone. Each dog has a distinct silhouette, a distinct personality, and a distinct role. You should be able to tell who is who from their shadow.

BIG — The Leader

Breed: French Bulldog Role: Leader / Style Icon Look: Black fur, gold chain, black beret, sunglasses, gold crown motif, black luxury streetwear
BIG is the face of the K-9 Crew. He is charismatic, creative, confident, protective, loyal, cheeky, and impossibly stylish. He walks the streets like they are his personal runway, because honestly? They are.
But BIG is learning that leadership is not about solving every problem yourself. His arc is about delegation — learning to trust the other characters and letting them drive when their strengths are needed.
Why BIG matters: He is the glue. He brings the crew together and sets the tone. But the story does not revolve around him. It revolves around the crew.
TUP — The DJ and Protector

Breed: Black and Tan Doberman Role: DJ / Protector Look: Black bandana, headphones, black jacket, gold chains, TUP pendant, DJ equipment
TUP is the muscle and the music. He is calm, loyal, protective, musical, and quietly funny. When he drops a track, the whole city feels it in their bones. He guards the pack with a loyalty that never wavers.
TUP connects stories to music, records, audio, venues, signals, mysterious sounds, and the deeper mystery of Project Gold. He is discovering connections between music and the city's hidden history that nobody else can hear.
Why TUP matters: He is the heartbeat. The crew moves to his rhythm, and his loyalty is the foundation everything else is built on.
BLITZ — The Speed

Breed: Greyhound Role: Speed / Racing / Action Look: Tall, very slim, athletic, charcoal and black with lighter grey markings, amber or electric blue eyes, black and gold racing jacket, gold K-9 chain, racing goggles, lightning symbol
BLITZ is fast, loud, fun, fearless, impulsive, and confident. His signature phrase is "I've got this!" He runs races, chases, rooftops, messages, escapes, discoveries, and physical challenges.
BLITZ is a Greyhound. Not a Husky. Not a generic fast dog. A Greyhound — tall, very slim, athletic, built for speed.
His character arc is learning that speed is not always the answer. Sometimes the fastest move is knowing when to stop.
Why BLITZ matters: He brings action, comedy, and the physical energy the crew needs when things get dangerous. His impulsiveness creates problems. His heart solves them.
ROXIE — The Strategist

Breed: Rottweiler Role: Strategy / Creativity / Leadership Look: Powerful, athletic, black and tan, warm brown or amber eyes, black urban jacket with hot pink and gold details, gold chain with K-9 pendant, cap or bucket hat
ROXIE is intelligent, confident, independent, creative, brave, funny, compassionate, and strategic. Her colour palette is black, hot pink, and gold — premium streetwear fashion, not childish or stereotypically girly.
She handles puzzles, planning, strategy, alternative solutions, and leadership. She is allowed to disagree with BIG when that serves the story. She challenges bad plans and offers better ones.
Her arc is learning to lead while trusting others — letting the crew carry their share without needing to control every outcome.
Why ROXIE matters: She is the brain. When the crew is stuck, ROXIE finds the way forward. She proves that strength and intelligence are not opposites.
SLY — The Investigator

Breed: Border Collie Role: Investigation / Technology / Intelligence Look: Black and white, athletic, electric blue or cyan eyes, black futuristic tech jacket with cyan trim, smart glasses, tech wrist device, K-9 pendant
SLY is quiet, observant, calm, intelligent, and detail-focused. His signature idea is "Something's wrong." He says it when he walks into a room, and three episodes later, he is right.
SLY drives the mystery. He handles Project Gold, secret codes, hidden messages, maps, signals, technology, underground locations, and the shadow crew. He is a major story driver — the character who uncovers the clues that move the entire saga forward.
His arc is learning to share his discoveries and trust the team instead of carrying the weight of the mystery alone.
Why SLY matters: He is the key. Without SLY, the mystery of Project Gold stays buried. He connects the crew to the deeper story that runs beneath the city.
RASTA RHINO — The OG Mentor

Breed: Rhinoceros (not a dog) Role: OG / Mentor / Music / City History Look: Enormous, powerful, charcoal grey skin, black and gold streetwear, gold jewellery, red/yellow/green accents, music-inspired accessories, stylish hat
RASTA RHINO is the OG of Concrete Beats City. He is wise, warm, grounded, musical, street-smart, and mentor-like. He runs Rasta Rhino's Golden Groove — an iconic record shop and music venue that has been at the heart of the city since the beginning.
He knows the city's history. He knows the music. And he may know important information about Project Gold that nobody else remembers.
RASTA RHINO is a rhinoceros. He is not a dog. He is not a reggae caricature. He is a grounded, respected mentor figure whose wisdom comes from having lived through the history the younger crew is only now discovering.
Why RASTA RHINO matters: He is the memory. When the crew needs to understand where they came from or what Project Gold really means, RASTA RHINO is the one who holds the answers.
The Crew Together
The K-9 Crew is not BIG and TUP plus four side characters. It is six distinct dogs (and one rhino) who each drive the story when their moment comes.
The stories use solo adventures, pair stories, trios, four-character missions, five-character sagas, and full six-character events. The combinations rotate. No character is left behind. No character dominates forever.
BIG leads. TUP protects. BLITZ runs. ROXIE plans. SLY investigates. RASTA RHINO remembers. Together, they are the K-9 Crew.
The Story Begins
The K-9 Crew saga began with a golden tag. BIG found it on the streets of Concrete Beats City, and the promise written on it — loyalty is the new gold — became the crew's founding principle.
From that first chapter, the crew has grown. They have faced the Drab Goblin on Halloween, raced through the Subtrack Dash with BLITZ, caught Parisian fashion with ROXIE, sketched Edinburgh with SLY, and learned the city's history from RASTA RHINO.
Each episode builds on the last. Characters develop. Relationships deepen. The mystery grows.
Project Gold

Project Gold is the long-term mystery at the heart of the K-9 Crew saga. It is a connected story layer running through the episodes — hidden symbols, clues, puzzles, maps, signals, and mysterious audio that SLY is slowly piecing together.
Project Gold is not a single reveal. It is a slow burn. Each episode adds a clue. Each character contributes a piece. The full picture is still emerging.
RASTA RHINO may know more than he lets on. TUP is hearing patterns in the music that connect to the mystery. SLY is following the signals. And BIG is learning that some problems are not solved by one dog alone.
